TEST ECI – Early Communication Indicator
Six-minute play-based assessment of expressive communication for children 6 to 42 months. Pricing covers staff training and certification; the assessment itself is included once staff are certified.
The Early Communication Indicator (ECI) measures a child’s expressive communication through gestures, vocalizations, single words, and multiple words during a six-minute play-based interaction. It’s appropriate for any child six to 42 months and has been used for progress monitoring, screening, and intervention planning. To use the ECI, staff complete training and certification (watch and score two certification videos to 85% reliability with master scores, with one-on-one feedback from IGDI trainers). Training packages include account access to the IGDI Data System.
